The Shiocton Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking a creative, energetic person with excellent interpersonal skills for the position of Library Director. Under the supervision of the Library Board, the Library Director is responsible for the operations of the library and the development of its services program. The library serves approximately 2,600 people living the in the Village of Shiocton and surrounding areas. The library is open 36 hours a week, has a collection of over 12,000 items, and has an annual budget of approximately $75,000.
This is a permanent part-time position of 29 hours a week. The starting wage is $18.00 an hour, with a prorated benefits package and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System. Candidates must be eligible for Grade 3 Wisconsin Public Library Certification, which requires completion of 54 semester credits, half of which are in the liberal arts and sciences at an accredited college, university or technical school. In addition, four required library science courses must be completed within four years of hire and certification must be maintained by participating in continuing education.
Previous public library experience and a history of community involvement are preferred.
